home-working Specialist teaching in home or school

This 1:1 specialist tuition can include 12 week interventions covering early phonics, spelling strategies, writing skills, key mathematics skills and memory strategies.

Screening for specific learning difficulties in literacy and/or maths

This will examine key areas to establish if the pupil is showing indicators of specific learning difficulties. It will be followed up with a report suggesting practical recommendations. This is usually requested by school staff.

Full diagnostic assessment for specific learning difficulties in literacy (dyslexia) and/or maths (dyscalculia)

This is a comprehensive diagnostic assessment. A minimum of 3 hours is required for test administration and it will be followed by a detailed report with analysis, conclusions and recommendations. This can be requested by school staff, parents or carers.

 

Bespopreparing-for-trainingke training in school for teaching and non-teaching staff

We run a range of training sessions in areas such as dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia/developmental co-ordination disorder (DCD) awareness, supporting writing, spelling strategies, phonics, Access Arrangements and newly qualified teacher (NQT) support. Priority areas for development may have been identified in your school development plan. Please contact us to discuss how we can help meet those training needs.

Access Arrangements for public examinations for pupils in Key Stages 4 and 5.

Our team of specialist teachers all hold a post-graduate qualification in individual specialist assessment at Level 7, and have a current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate. In addition, all have a thorough understanding of the current JCQ regulations and work in an ethical fashion. We will liaise closely with you, to ensure a joined-up and consistent approach. We provide an initial consultation meeting to help you establish suitable candidates. The individual assessment is completed using up-to-date test materials and the standardised scores are recorded on Form 8, Section C. Suitable access arrangements are then discussed with you.

Attendance at multi agency meetings including In School Reviews

Professional discussion plays a valuable part in the problem solving process. It can help establish how to most effectively meet the needs of individual pupils.
